Growing up, making and keeping friends was never easy for me. I never had a group of friends that I could lean on. A group that will pick me up when I’m down and that I can have fun with. People that could accept me for who I am, flaws and all. It wasn’t until college that I found my people.
We are by far the craziest group of girls in the best possible way. I know that they will always be there for me no matter what. This year hasn’t been the easiest and has presented me with some of the toughest challenges I have faced thus far.
I only have a few of my close girlfriends. They say when you meet someone, there is something that makes you clique with them and you just know that they will be in your life for the long haul. This absolutely 100% true. Some of my friends who I’ve known for a short time, we talked for hours on end when we first met. When you surround yourself with positive people, they can automatically make anything better. Whenever I’m having a bad day or in a bad mood and need to vent, my friends are always there with a listening ear and words of encouragement. Hey, even this motivational masala needs some motivation herself sometimes! Although some of them have already graduated and entered the “real world”, I make sure that we still keep in contact. Even when we don’t talk for a while when we do it’s like we never stopped. I will treasure them and keep in touch with them long after graduation.
