Top Motivational Podcasts To Listen To Right Now

Lately, instead of listening to music, I have started to listen to podcasts. Podcasts that allow me to think critically and dig deeper into my inner self both personally and professionally. To get a sense of what each of these podcasts was all about, I listened to the very first episodes. Here are my favorite motivational podcasts.

Daily Boost

Each episode is about 12 minutes long. This is perfect for getting ready in the morning because it’s short and to the point. This motivational podcast helps me focus on what my goals are for the day and to stay on track.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

I’ll admit that I’m a little biased when it comes to this next podcast because I already own one of Gretchen Rubin’s books, Better Than Before.  In each episode, the listeners learn to lead a more productive and happier life. Rubin educates you on how to get rid of negative habits and create habits that are beneficial to lead the best life you can lead. Each episode is 20 minutes long so it will keep you engaged throughout each episode.

Magic Lessons with Elizabeth Gilbert

Ever heard of the book-turned-movie Eat, Pray, Love? Well, this podcast is by the same wonderful woman, Elizabeth Gilbert. She wrote another bestseller called Magic Lessons and this podcast is an expansion of that book.

Gilbert explains Magic Lessons are roadmaps for the path of creativity, the extra nudge we need when we feel stuck in our creative lives. To be completely honest, there are plenty of us (myself included) that could use that extra push when we feel stuck or in a creative rut.

The first episode talks about feeling guilty about your writing. I had, and sometimes still do, feel when it comes to my writing and blogging.

There was something that she said that stuck with me and blew my mind.  Gilbert told the woman that you need to have something that ignites a spark of passion in you that makes you happy.  You have to give yourself permission to do what you love. Before you worry about what other people will think when you speak your truth. It’s up to you how much you wanna take and put out in the world.

This is just the very first episode and I can’t wait to listen to more.

Being Boss

This has become one of my new favorite podcasts to listen to. Being Boss, created by Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon, is a podcast for creative entrepreneurs who wanna take their businesses or brands to the next level. Now that I’ve become more serious about blogging, I want to make sure it’s the best site it can be. So, of course, I would want to take it to the next level in whatever way I can.

The podcast focuses on branding, business visioning, and creative coaching. The main goal for their listeners is for one day they have the tools and confidence to become their own boss lady. The ladies of Being Boss release episodes once a week that are 30 minutes long.

Throughout each episode, they guide their listeners on how they run their creative online businesses in today’s world. From talking about money, how they grow their teams, productivity tips and tricks, some business common sense and not so common sense that someone with little to know business knowledge would need to know in order to grow.

The premiere episode focused on doing the work. There is a difference between wanting success and accomplishing the goals for success. To summarize their entire conversation, doing the work will make you look like an overnight success. You have to be optimistic and fearless, knowing full well that anything new that you do will be scary one way or another.

You can visit their site to find show notes (anything that is mentioned in the podcast and main talking points), recaps of the show, links, and resources. They are also on SoundCloud and iTunes.

Ladies Who Lunch

I’ll admit that I’m a huge YouTube dork. One of my favorite pastimes is to watch videos for hours on end while procrastinating to do homework. When I discovered this podcast, I was very intrigued.

According to their bio, “Ladies Who Lunch lets you sit at the table and explore topics often left out of polite conversations with YouTubers Ingrid Nilsen and Cat Valdes. Write in to join their dialogue as they discuss topics about sex, relationships, social phobias and more as they approach life’s dilemmas with compassion and a sense of humor”. It’s pretty spot on because it feels like you’re having a conversation with a group of your closest friends and the topic isn’t just about our love lives.

Ladies Who Lunch is more lighthearted and casual in comparison to the other podcasts that I mentioned earlier. But just because it’s lighthearted, doesn’t mean that the topics discussed aren’t important. What I thought was interesting was the fact that in the first five minutes of the podcast, they mention that they don’t always agree on the same issues that they discuss and that’s because they have a lot of respect for each other’s opinion. That is what makes this podcast special and unique. It’s nice to hear a different perspective on a topic because you might not be aware of a different point of view and there are ways to agree differently.

And there you have it! To check each of these podcasts, you can find them on iTunes and by clicking the titles to go to their SoundCloud.
